In the bowl at the front door now, a small permanent Heuchera and a variegated Oktoberle are retracted. The "Palace Purple" seedling has broken the shell and was almost released into the wild. One thinks of the fleeting year after looking around and you come across autumn poems. Many, I feel as dark and heavy, but the poem "The Autumn" by Johann Heinrich Voss (1751 - 1826) liked it, especially the last verse, I found a wonderful place:

You, dead leaves, the niederschauert,

flowers whisper to you,: Do not grieve!

While walking through the monastery gardens are found then the bright spots that illuminate the dreary time. Nature provides plenty of supplies next year.

Sempervivum in all corners ... - Part 2

As of Saturday evening was a little long, the night was a bit shorter and on Sunday morning I needed, once a strong coffee to properly wake up. Quickly the time passed until my garden friend who took me back to the Rheinhessen, the doorbell rang. The 2nd Day of the annual meeting could begin. Hurrah, and Sempervivum Jovibarba - I come.

Garden No. 1 in Wöllstein

Here you can marvel at a species-rich herbaceous and woody stock.
is at home and garden is a former farmer's farm and the garden owners have a rich history, such as paving blocks and troughs integrated. Yard and garden to get a very special atmosphere.

one passage through the gate, you first get into a shady area that seems mysterious. If one or the other spots I inevitably ask myself if not for there lives a Waldelfe.

is preserved between a barn and old walls is a beautiful courtyard with a Mediterranean flair.

If you continue, you come through an archway in the huge perennial garden. Now here in the fall of the beds explode in a huge color fireworks. The sometimes very bold color combinations are very good successful and we see that the garden owners have "a knack" for it, as they say. The following pictures and garden views at least give an impression of color force.

The garden owners sell rare plants on their own reproduction and for us have a little stand set up. Yes, who is to resist that because? - So my garden is now to give it back richer by a few plants ...

The visitors from the north have again set out on the way home, while a small group has set out for a delicious lunch or a garden visit to Hesse.

place in a small garden area, a collection of Sempervivum, and in a shed waiting vessels and "carding" of all kinds out to be planted.

A small pond can be found here as well as a sunken garden.

missing Besides countless Sempervivum but other perennials not and here seems to fall have not kept to feed.

The day is drawing to a close and here is the last view of the "always survivors" before it got dark then.

Two gardens, as it not be more different. But each a "dream garden". As always, take the one or other design ideas for your own garden back home.

And as you can see here, not just one or the other design idea, but right along with some other plants. So here are my new treasures for the garden. That there were so many new Sempervivum then, but I can nothing. I have tickets for the raffle in MajoRahns bought garden and as each lot was a win are - despite the sharing of the last lots with another participant - but a few more added.

For a wonderful weekend came to an end when I got to know many nice Semps-crazy. Very glad I know that I was allowed to meet Martin Haberer personally, which I had acquired in early summer, some of his own family and I was very impressed.
